U15s and U17s Head to ECNL Play-Offs

San Diego, CA to Host Top Girls Teams in the US

After a long and grueling season in the ECNL, the U15 and U17 FC Wisconsin girls teams will be heading to the ECNL Play-Offs in San Diego, CA for this June.

The best 64 girls teams in the country at each age group U15-U17 will come together in Oceanside for the best youth girls competition in the world. Teams qualify for one of three levels of the ECNL Play-Offs based on their performances throughout the year in ECNL conference play and at ECNL National Events.  The ECNL Champions League is the competition for the top 32 teams in the ECNL, the North American Cup is the competition for the next 16 teams, and the Showcase Cup is the destination for the final teams in the group of 64.

FC Wisconsin's U15 team will be competing in the North American Cup, where they will be looking to earn the club's first championship in ECNL competition.  (In the 2015 Play-Offs, the FC Wisconsin U16s lost the North American Cup Final in penalty kicks.)  The U15s will open up against Mid-Atlantic club Richmond United, the #2 seed in the North American Cup.  Teams in the North American Cup play a four-game knock-out to determine the champion, with competition on June 24th, 25th, and 27th, with the final on June 28th.

FC Wisconsin's U17 team will be competing in the Showcase Cup.  The Showcase Cup is also a four-game knock-out competition.  The U17s secured qualification for the ECNL post-season in the most dramatic way possible, with a 1-0 win over Sporting Blue Valley on the final day of regular season competition for the 2015-16 season.
