The 2023 FC WI College Soccer Preview!

College Soccer Programs kick off their seasons this week, and once again FC Wisconsin players will be in action all across the nation. 44 FCW alums will be playing college soccer this fall, representing more than 20 states and in over 20 different conferences. 

Big 10:

There has never been a season in the history of the club when FCW players have not been in the Big 10. 

Megan Cornell begins her career at Wisconsin, alongside Rachel Dallet, Aryssa Mahrt, and Emma Jaskaniec. Jaskaniec looks to finish her decorated college career on a high note, and was named to the Herman Trophy watchlist for college soccer’s top player. 

Elsewhere in the Big 10 Marisa Grzesiak begins her second season at Indiana, as does Fiona Skwierawski at Minnesota. Joining Skwierawski in Minnesota will be graduate transfer Jordy Rothwell who finished her undergrad career at Creighton in 2022.  

Big East:

The Big East continues to be a popular destination for FCW players, where 9 players can be found on 4 different squads in 2023. 

Freshman Haley Christianson joins Dre Alberts and Maggie Starker at Marquette, while Abby Hall returns for her second season at Seton Hall. Also on the east coast Tori Bunz and Ahnna Faust should see significant action at Providence College this fall. 

Peighton Steffen and Abigail Santana have both had standout careers at Creighton and both return for their senior seasons as captains. 

Other Power 5: ACC, SEC, Big 12

While the Big 10 is always represented by FCW players, there will be players in each of the Power 5 conferences in 2023. Liesel Odden will be a Junior at Syracuse in the ACC, and Jadyn Rupnow transferred to Kentucky during the off season to compete in the SEC. 

Further west a pair of freshman will go it alone in the Pac-12 and Big-12 conferences. Lilliah Blum at Utah, and Riley Franklin at Baylor. 

The Valley Conference:

The Valley has been home to numerous FCW players over the years, and 5 players will have ambitions of a conference championship this fall. Nicole Norfolk enters her 5th year at Valparaiso, bringing to an end an incredible career that has set numerous program records and a left lasting mark on the Valpo program. Senior Amelia Crabtree will also look to finish her career on a high note at Drake University.  Emily Ehlert will be a senior at Illinois State, and along with sophomore goalkeeper Kate Nonn will look to make big steps this season, while freshman Lillie Tabor looks set to play a big role at Belmont University. 

Elsewhere in Division 1:

In the Mid-American Conference, Jordyn Jeffers and Amara Thompkins will be a seniors for Ball State and Northern Illinois respectively. While those players finish successful collegiate careers, Josie Langhans will begin her career by looking to make a big impact for Eastern Michigan. 

In the Horizon League Dalina Jonuzi joins Raegan Michalak at UW-Milwaukee, and Aleah Reesman begins her collegiate career at UW-Green Bay. In the Ohio Valley Conference a pair of goalkeepers will look to make their mark - Lexi Prusow at Eastern Illinois, and Quinlan Warren at Murray State. 

Haley Johnson had strong freshman season at the University of the Pacific in the West Coast Conference and will look to build on that success in 2023. Annika Seem traded west for east in  2023 and will playing for Stetson University in Florida after transferring from San Diego. 

NCAA Division 2:

A pair of FCW alums will be competing as Freshman in NCAA D2 soccer this fall. Havannah Brockington will be playing at Michigan Tech, and Alyson Lazaroff will be playing at Seton Hill University. 

NCAA Division 3:

Tyler Wilson will no doubt be hoping to challenge for a national title during her senior season with Washington University in St. Louis. Lauren Davis received multiple accolades during the 2022 season with MIT, and will be hoping to continue that in 2023. 

In Wisconsin, Jude Dobrinski returns to UW-Whitewater as the reigning WIAC Goalkeeper of the Year, while Rachel Janes will continue her successful career and compete for a conference championship with UW-La Crosse. 

Mia Brunelli will hope to make an impact as a freshman at UW-Stout, and Maya Alberts will no doubt play a big role after transferring to Lawrence University. Dika KC begins her career at Wellesley College, while Anna Franceschi and Sydney Kallinger will continue theirs at Trinity College and Trine University.
