Jacie Lyon (formerly Jermier) Joins FC Wisconsin - Madison Staff

FC Wisconsin is tremendously excited to announce that club alum Jacie Lyon will be returning to Wisconsin to lead the club’s FC Wisconsin – Madison program in 2017-2018.  Lyon, a Madison native, brings a fantastic playing and educational background to the position.

Jacie, an outside midfielder and outside back, helped lead her U18 team to the first and only youth national championship ever won by a Wisconsin youth soccer team, boys or girls, in 2011.  The championship would be the first big accomplishment of many as she moved on to college soccer.  After overcoming a broken leg and then an ACL injury in her first two years of college, Jermier went on to become one of the most decorated players in Marquette history.

Jacie earned three straight BIG EAST All-Academic team honors (2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15), as well as 2014 ALL-BIG EAST Second team honors and 2014 BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors in her junior year.  During the summer before her senior year she claimed her second national championship, leading the Chicago Red Star Reserves to the 2015 WPSL National Championship – playing with current club coach Monica Gonyo in goal.   In her senior year at Marquette, Jermier claimed 2015 ALL-BIG EAST First Team honors and was a 2015 Senior CLASS Award Candidate – one of 30 women’s players across the country recognized for their loyalty, achievement, and leadership.  A two-year captain at Marquette, Lyon started every game in her final two seasons in the program.

Jacie graduated in 2015 with a BA in Biomedical Sciences, providing her with a great knowledge of the physiological demands of the game and on proper training methodology to maximize athletic performance while reducing injury risk.

“We are so incredibly excited to welcome Jacie back to the club, and back to Madison,” said Director Christian Lavers.  “Her background and character will make her a tremendous resource and role model for the players, and a teacher that will help them get better every day.  Her insight into the game as a very technical and cerebral player, combined with her educational background, are a unique foundation to be a fantastic coach.”

Jacie will lead the FC Wisconsin – Madison program beginning this fall, and will also help with the club’s ECNL program to bring a connection from the youngest players all the way to the U18/19 ECNL.

“I'm very excited about the opportunity to return to Madison and coach, and to grow the presence of the club,” said Jacie.  “The club and these coaches were a big part of my development as a player, and I am thrilled to be a part of helping the next generation of Madison players have a great experience and a fantastic journey in the game.”
