Excitement for 2017-2018 Building Already

Club's 6th Year Set to Be Its Best

July is usually a quiet month in youth soccer - a respite after the summer playoffs and before the fall preseason begins.  But the summer of 2017 has a little more excitement than usual in Wisconsin, as FC Wisconsin looks forward to 2017 as perhpas the best year in the club's young history.

"There is an extra bit of enthusiasm in the club about this fall," said coach Andy Lee.  "We had a really great spring season across all the programs in the club, and when we look at the returning players and how much they have improved, combined with the potential of some of the new faces joining us in a month, there are a lot of reasons to be excited."

2017-18 At A Glance:

  • The FC Wisconsin - Madison program has expanded to include 4 age groups (U11-U14) in just its 3rd year
  • The Youth Academy Program (U6-U10) is larger than ever before
  • The ECNL teams are deeper, with more competitive rosters, than ever before
  • A new Regional Competitive Program is being launched to provide development and competition opportunity for more players

The FC Wisconsin motto of "Aspire-Develop-Achieve" describes the mission of the club, a mission built on long-term player development.

  • Aspire - identify players with ambition, passion and excitement for the game, and help these qualities grow
  • Develop - create a top class coaching, teaching, and development environment where players can maximize their potential
  • Achieve - place players in collegiate soccer programs, and field teams to compete at the nation's highest youth female level

"Every year in the club we have taken steps forward in our culture, and in the level and style of play of our teams and players" said Director of Coaching Christian Lavers.  "There are no short-cuts in developing complete players, and we have always stayed focused on the big picture of ultimately how we want our teams to play, and the skill and insight that must be developed for that to happen.  With the prograss we have made in the past 6 years in our club, and the big steps we took this spring, we are more excited than ever before to get everyone back on the training field."

FC Wisconsin's high-school aged ECNL teams will begin training on August 1, with younger age groups starting later in the month.
