Alums Continue to Star in College

FC Wisconsin alums earned individual honors in 3 of the Power 5 Conferences this month, are leading teams ranked in the top 10 in both Division I and Division 3, and more.  Check it all out!

o The Badgers had a strong non-conference run and then started Big Ten Play 2-1-1.  Payton Wesley scored in a 2-1 win over Michigan State after the team dropped a tough 0-2 match against Michigan.  Dani Rhodes earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal each against Northwestern and Illinois in the opening Big Ten weekend.  Jordyn Bloomer has started in goal in all games this year. Congrats to Wesley, Bloomer, Fabry, Rhodes, Knudtson and Poorman for a great start to conference play!

o Marquette has had an up and down season so far, but had a big win over UW Milwaukee to snap UWM’s nation leading undefeated streak.  Bri Jaeger scored the winner in that match and was named to the Big East Honor Roll.  Allison Jacobson and Mary Kate Simon have been big parts of the team’s success.

o UWM’s 27 game unbeaten streak came to an end at Marquette, but it has been smooth sailing otherwise for the Panthers.   Erin Corrigan has 2 goals and 7 assists this season already, and Taylor Tabbert has started every game to date.

o Kate Del Fava is leading Illinois State in almost every offensive category on the season, as the team has put together a 4-game winning streak aided by her goal scoring.

o Mississippi State earned their first national ranking in history, coming in at #19 in the country according to TopDrawer Soccer.    Hailey Farrington-Bentil has played in all 10 games, starting 2, as the team raced to an 8-2 record.

o Green Bay dropped several close results as they entered Horizon League play.  Mara Pfeilstifter has started 7 of 9 games while Kara Baugrud is waiting to make a big impact!

o Louisville had big wins over Notre Dame and Syracuse in ACC play.  Taylor Kerwin has appeared in 8 matches, starting 4 and scoring once.

o Maddie Hoitink has started every game for Cornell, who recently dropped a heartbreaking overtime match against Columbia.

o Ali Menard came off the bench in every game, most recently in a close 1-2 loss to St. Louis.

o DePaul is 5-3-1 after a strong 3-0 win over Seton Hall.  Mikaela Hoard has seen action in three games, and Kristina Barczak is ready to make an impact!

o Gaby Dorsey has started 9 of 10 games in midfield as UNH as come out to a 5-4-1 start, with a recent 1-0 win over UMBC.

o Denver and Mary DeWalt are 4-4-2 on the season after a 2-0 win over Cal State Fullerton.

o WSU is 8-0 and ranked in the top ten, with Elyse Bennett starting 8 games and scoring twice.

o Christina Feller has played in 7 games and started one, while Andrea Lopez has played in 8 and started 4 as UR went to 5-2-1 after Nazareth snapped a 3-game win streak.

o Baylor is 7-4, and Jen Wandt has played in 8 of 11 games, earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

o Kristin Reikersdorfer has started 2 games and appeared in 5 for the #1 ranked team in Division 3.

o SMU is 7-2-1 with Jess Cooley starting 3 games at outside back.

o Wright State is 3-5-1, but undefeated in conference play.  Kat Schmidt has started all nine games.

o Creighton is 4-5 after a 1-0 win over Xavier.  Freshman Emma Roemer has not seen action yet.

o Valpo is 3-5-1, after an 0-1 loss to Drake.  Adi Johnson has started all nine games.

o ISU is 2-8-2, after an 0-3 loss to Texas Tech.  Taylor Wiegert has appeared in 1 game.

o Lily Mueller has started every game in goal for MIT as they raised out to a 7-2-1 record.

o Western Illinois is 2-6-1 on the year so far, and  Emma Keckeisen has seen action in five games.
