The club's annual Sand Soccer and BBQ event was held on Thursday, June 4 at Bradford Beach in downtown Milwaukee.  Nearly 70 players from U11-U18 came down to Bradford Beach to play soccer in the sand, jump in the lake, and spend time with players from all across the club.  Coaches and parents helped with the grilling - fixing hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs, along with potato salad, chips, Gatorade, and cookies.  With 70 degree temperatures and sunny skies, it was a perfect day to be at the lake.

Being a true soccer club means much more than the game itself.  Any organization can put players onto teams, and have multiple teams wear the same uniform and logo.  A true soccer club creates relationships across age groups, mentoring programs for young players, and an atmosphere of family support from players, coaches, and parents on teams older and younger.  The club Sand Soccer and BBQ event is a small reflection of this philosophy in action at FC Wisconsin Eclipse.
